Beth Adam Judaism with a Humanistic Perspective
Social Action

Congregation Beth Adam is committed to tzedakah and the Jewish tradition of social action. Nearly all of our members participate in one or more of our ongoing social action projects, designed to serve community needs.

Some of Beth Adam’s social action projects include:
  • Annual High Holiday food drive that benefits the Loveland Interfaith Effort (LIFE).
  • Bi-annual Blood Drive in conjunction with Hoxworth Blood Center.
  • Participation in the Jewish Community Center's "One Candle for Tzedakah" project that collected toys for needy children.
  • Ongoing collection of personal care items (toiletries) for the Mary Magdalene House, a Cincinnati agency that provides showers and personal care facilities for the homeless.
  • Children in Beth Adam’s Religious School purchase and prepare bag lunches for the homeless, which are distributed through the Drop In Center of Cincinnati.
  • With the help of countless volunteers. Beth Adam members purchase, prepare, transport and serve nutritious meals at the Over-the-Rhine Soup Kitchen. Beth Adam’s Social Action Chairperson also coordinates the Soup Kitchen efforts of all of the Cincinnati Jewish congregations.
